If you want to keep settlers out, the most logical thing to do is to place some markers around the house or fortress, so they know that they should not enter. Of course, it is also possible to use some other trick, like creating a trapdoor or a false entrance, but that is not something that is going to help you in the long run.
So what are we going to do? We're going to place the Private Area Markers in your house or fortress. With them, settlers will stay away and you will not have to worry about them breaking in. It is a pretty simple and effective solution to a very common problem, and the mod is available in the game. You can use the Private Area Markers for your own house or fortress. The only thing you need to do is to download the mod and install it.
